About Panchayat Issues
In the early days of the CEDC, volunteers started working informally with the women and found it was a huge success. Our next step was to apply for funding and we received a 3-year grant from the Irish Embassy.
The organizers felt the women’s programme should be about gradually evolving a system that tries to figure out exactly what women want to learn, what the most sustainable skills for them are, and how they can market these skills and earn money without having to step too much out of their comfort zones.
There are interactive sessions where we interact with the women to solve their problems. The women also enjoy to learn the art & craft and earn their respect. Here the women are encouraged to show their hidden talents and thought processes.
