For Awareness of COVID -19 & General Health Issues for Underprivileged Women
Given that the pandemic has led to the closure of many of the neighbourhood Clinics and dispensaries and there’s an overwhelming rush at Medical Centre’s (where there’s a great danger of cross-infection) regular medical consultation for women from lower-income strata has come to near closure. This is causing major problems because women don’t know whom to consult for medical issues such as gynecological, pediatric, cold coughs etc. Besides, the lack of awareness regarding Covid-19 ie early detection, treatment, nutrition, need for vaccination, etc. is only exacerbating the problem.
In order to address this, we are creating a team of Asha workers
(Accredited Social Health Activist ) who call the women on their mobiles from our current database of 1000 women and advise them on Covid related issues – awareness and early detection etc. They will also be available to address the non-covid health issues over the phone.
